Welcome to 4ZZZ’s weekly newsletter for announcers and volunteers.

It can be difficult to keep on top of all of the missives that 4ZZZ HQ disseminates week to week, so in the interest of keeping your inboxes under control and our messaging clear, we’ll be doing our darndest to compile all of our comms into one weekly mailout.

Obviously there will be exceptions from time to time, but consider The Newsletter Formerly Known As your Tuesday afternoon treat (named so because we expect you to be able to  regurgitate the information herein).

Hello Beautiful Broadcasters,

Welcome to 2024. The year community radio thrives to the top!

This will be a relatively short newsletter but with such a magic day yesterday I had to throw the thanks around.

The Hot 100 Hangout was such a great day of community and wonderful to see so many Zedders there.

Just because I love stats the breakdown of the countdown was 98 Australian bands, 76 local, 69 songs featured female or non binary members and 10 were First Nations artists.

It’s a massive effort from the crew collating the songs, the social media presence, merch vollies, announcers, studio sitters, tech legends and everyone else who made the day special.

I know it was tough in the rain but still loved the effort of people listening along at home and being a part of the countdown.

All of you getting involved is why the original and best countdown is so strong and is such a great way to kick off the new year.

Not much else to say for this week so stay safe, there is a lot of rain around and the Gold Coast is dealing with a lot of water right now.

Thanks again everyone, looking forward to another great year at 4ZZZ.

Stay Hydrated,

Look at these people having fun!

And these people!

Look even this dog is having a blast!
